Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement concerns all language versions of the website of Diak’s Express Yourself project (English, Spanish, German and Lithuanian), and it was produced on 20 September 2019. The accessibility of this online service was assessed by Poutapilvi Web Design Oy regarding technical accessibility, while the assessment of accessibility regarding content and visual appearance is based on Diak’s self-assessment.

Non-accessible content of the digital service

Technical deficiencies

  • Certain landmark headers repeat the name of the landmark unnecessarily, mainly in the navigation section
  • There is no link for jumping directly to the main content of the page (Criterion WCAG 2.0 / 2.4.1)
  • The search form, function of the WordPress system: the structure of the form could, if possible, be modified for better suitability, for example, with screen reader users in mind.
  • Juicer SoMe input: the list element must only include certain elements as actual child elements (Criterion: WCAG 2.1 / 1.3.1)

The reason for non-compliance: The deficiencies were found in the technical accessibility analysis, and the intention is to develop Diak’s websites to comply with the criteria also in this respect within a reasonable time. The structure of the Juicer SoMe input cannot be corrected due to a disproportionate burden.

Visual deficiencies and content deficiencies

The colour contrasts in the PDF brochure may be insufficient, and the headers are not necessarily seen by the screen reader software as headers.

The reason for non-compliance: Disproportionate burden. The brochure was produced by using project funding, and the production of a new brochure is impossible due to budgetary reasons.
